Family homes remain the top priority for homebuyers in Peterborough, reports email4property.co.uk, with its monthly house price index showing that detached homes have grown in popularity since the millennium.
Over the past seven years Peterborough has become a magnet for families who enjoy the blend of city attractions and village life, with residents able to benefit from a commute of less than an hour into London. Email4property.co.uk, the largest network of local estate agent websites, recorded a continued preference for family housing in Peterborough in 2007, with terraced homes topping the property mix and detached homes achieving the highest level of price growth, increasing by 7.5% on figures for 2006.
Detached homes have outsold apartments in Peterborough over a long period, with the number of detached sales up 30% on apartment sales in 2007. This indicates a continued demand for large family homes in the city and surrounding villages, which includes a high number of retirees.
